About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Ruby/Ruby on Rails Software Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you'll be a key contributor to the design, development, and maintenance of our core platform — writing clean, scalable code and helping shape engineering best practices across the team. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, and fellow engineers to deliver high-quality features that make a real impact.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable backend systems using Ruby on Rails
• Write clean, well-tested, and well-documented code with a focus on performance and reliability
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into technical solutions
• Conduct and participate in thorough code reviews to uphold engineering standards
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and technical debt
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help define best practices for the engineering team
• Manage tasks and sprint workflows in JIRA, and maintain version control and CI/CD pipelines in GitLab
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with Ruby/Ruby on Rails in a production environment
• Strong understanding of RESTful API design and development
• Solid grasp of relational databases (MySQL) including query optimization
• Experience with testing frameworks
• Proficiency with GitLab for source control, merge requests, and CI/CD workflows
• Experience using JIRA for agile project and sprint management
• Strong English communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment using collaboration tools like MSFT Teams
   

Nice to Have

• Experience with React and modern frontend development practices — candidates with full-stack capabilities are strongly encouraged to apply
• Experience integrating Rails backends with React frontends via APIs or libraries like Inertia.js
• Expereince with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
