As a Senior 2D Environment Artist, you will be responsible for the creation of outstanding environments on a new, unannounced game for Blizzard. You will be a part of an exciting art team, bringing to life many worlds for both core gameplay and meta.
You will partner with other visual development artists, experienced game designers, 3D environment artists and technical artists to create extraordinary and unforgettable levels and environments within our game's universe that will be experienced by players around the world. The role will be complex, creative, and fun with loads of opportunities to hone your skills and try new things.

Deliver concept art that helps to set visual benchmarks for our new games.
Work closely with art, creative, and level design directors to understand the creative vision, working with them to design a visual style that supports the game’s pillars.
Work with the senior director of visual development and key stakeholders to find opportunities to improve pipelines and art workflows.
Support the ongoing development of art style guides and relevant documentation that will align teams, and prepare for any potential external development.
Proficient in crafting high-quality 2D concept art, encompassing the ability to design worlds with both organic and hard surface shapes.
Ability to creatively support small teams through the visual development and design process.
Understanding of 3D game development pipelines.
Interest and aptitude for visual storytelling and world building.
Strong understanding of drawing, perspective, painting, and design principles that can be applied across multiple art styles.
Great eye for bringing bold lighting and color into digital paintings.
Basic understanding of 3D software packages.
A passion for making high-quality games in a cross-discipline, collaborative team.
Able to work creatively as part of a large or small group.
Self-motivation, outstanding communication skills, and eagerness to collaborate.
Understanding of the playability and visual style of Blizzard, with a passion to push it to the next level.
A natural problem solver, keen to do what’s right for the environments team and the game as a whole.
Experience in working with outsourcing for 2D environment art.
Understanding of disciplines outside of environment design, like character and hard surface design.
