🎩 Your Role:

You've spent time in fine art logistics — you know what it takes to move art works internationally. You want to stay hands-on while growing a team.

As Operations Team Lead, you'll manage a team of operations associates, each owning a portfolio of art world clients and their full shipping cycle: sales, exhibition, showroom installation, etc. You're the person who keeps complex, high-value shipments on track and empowers your team to handle complex requests and deliver value to our clients.

✏What you'll do

  • Manage a team of 4-6 operations associates handling end-to-end fine art shipments: client intake, collections and road transport, air freight coordination, export documentation, crating oversight, and last-mile delivery.
  • Own your team's performance across key metrics: transit lead times, client satisfaction, incident rate, margin, and revenue contribution.
  • Be the escalation point for complex operational situations: damaged works, customs holds, last-minute art logistics, time-critical collector shipments.
  • Monitor active shipments across your team's portfolio, identify bottlenecks early, and build routines that keep nothing falling through the cracks.
  • Coach your team on client communication standards, partner negotiation, and operational best practices specific to fine art and high-value cargo.
  • Manage carrier and partner performance (fine art trucking companies, crating studios, handling agents, customs brokers), holding them to SLAs.
  • Drive continuous improvement: surface recurring issues, design new processes, and roll them out across the team and partner network.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop talent: building a team that combines logistics rigour with the sensitivity that fine art clients demand.

🧑‍🎨 Your profile:

  • 5+ years in fine art logistics, Fine Art freight forwarding, or other high-value products — you understand the specific needs of demanding clients.
  • Fluent English and French required;
  • Proven team leadership or ability to ramp up on management skills: you've managed a team of logistics or operations coordinators and know how to develop people, or, even without direct management, you have been a senior team member who’s trained or supported juniors.
  • Solid grounding in complex transport operations.
  • Nice to have: air freight (including shipping dangerous goods, ATA carnets, CITES, Export Licences), road transport, and export documentation.
  • Client-facing instincts: you speak the language of art world clients and are able to gain their confidence while managing complex operational realities behind the scenes.
  • Fluent in the end-to-end shipment lifecycle: client briefing, partner coordination, crating & condition reporting standards, customs clearance, delivery and incident handling.
  • Comfortable with KPI-driven management — you track what matters, spot trends, and act on them.
