The Opportunity

The Plan Implementation Manager (PIM) will apply their knowledge, experience, and understanding of U.S. retirement regulations and operations to support and deliver a best-in-class customer experience while managing the relationship, set-up and investment mapping of client assets on our platform. The PIM is accountable for project management and onboarding of new retirement accounts to the Open Architecture (OA) platform at John Hancock.

The PIM will coordinate internally with our data, payroll and ERISA teams to ensure that key milestones are completed on time and will work alongside the Technical Specialist (TS) to ensure that data and plan set-up is completed with a high degree of accuracy.  

This is a Hybrid opportunity in either our Boston, Toronto, Waterloo, or Halifax offices (Tues, Wed, Thurs in office, Mon & Fri WFH).

                                                                                                                

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain new relationships throughout the entire post-sale, implementation process including Plan Amendments.
  • Ability to handle a full caseload of any size cases with varying complexities, managing different conversion options, and supporting the OA, Defined Contribution bundled and unbundled product.
  • Lead all project updates and communication with external parties.
  • Deliver required communications and documentation to the client; drafting or amending appropriately when needed.
  • Support TS call to review data integrity and analysis with Plan Sponsors, Financial Advisors and TPAs.
  • Participate in Plan Specifications meetings and ensure the Plan Specifications document is signed for plan set-up.
  • Review web testing results from Plan set-up team.
  • Assist with the final quality review in preparation for handoff to ongoing service teams.
  • Provide oversight and ownership of the processing of large financial transactions.
  • Identify and support training and developmental needs of the department.
  • Support, facilitate, and influence process improvement initiatives and strategies including work on small and large scale projects.
  • Serve as a change leader and seek continuous improvement opportunities and work to close process gaps.

What we are looking for

  • Experience in the OA marketplace as a Plan Implementation Manager.
  • Proven knowledge of U.S. retirement regulations and operations.
  • ​401k certification is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships while focusing on professionalism.
  • Excellent knowledge of workflows, procedures and the functionalities, complexities and limitations of our systems.
  • Expert problem solving, analytical, judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively articulate processes and procedures.

Salary range is expected to be between

$58,875.00 USD - $98,125.00 USD
