We’re interested in hearing from people who

  • Have solid hands-on application development experience using TypeScript/Node, Java, and REST APIs

  • Pride themselves in providing technical strategy and guidance, overseeing medium to complex engineering initiatives

  • Are confident driving the development of strategic programs of work, including proof of concept developments

  • Have solid hands-on experience with Serverless Computing including Infrastructure as code using AWS

  • Are knowledgeable of core business and technical strategies to deliver best business outcomes through technical implementation

  • Are confident identifying, gaining support for, and ensuring execution of strategic direction in areas of expertise

  • Pride themselves in their responsibility for nominated technical assets related to areas of expertise including roadmaps and technical direction

  • Are constantly mentoring and up-skilling other engineering teams across different squads

  • Are constantly contributing to internal online discussion around software engineering, delivery and technology (for example blog posts and knowledge base articles)

  • Pride themselves in driving the team to deliver complex troubleshooting activity

Tech Skills

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. We do not expect you to know them all but experience or exposure with some of these, or a willing to learn these skillsets (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team;

  • TypeScript/Node, Java, and REST APIs

  • Serverless Computing using AWS - AWS lambda, API gateway, IAM Roles & Policy, SQS, SNS, Aurora PostgreSQL

  • Sound knowledge of OAuth2 and MTLS

  • Infrastructure code AWS CDK/Terraform/CloudFormation/SST

  • Experience designing database schemas and writing high performance queries against very large datasets

  • Experience working in a DevOps environment and contributing to the CI-CD pipeline

  • Microservices architecture, Design Patterns, and best practices in software programming

  • Working knowledge on Pub-Sub and Streaming technologies such as SQS, SNS, Kafka and Kinesis

  • Monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, CloudWatch

  • Performance tuning while building high throughput and resilient applications.

  • SDLC with Agile methodology

  • Certification: AWS Developer – Associate
