Purpose of the role:


GSK México is seeking an experienced and dynamic Business Unit Director for our Oncology division in Mexico. This pivotal leadership role is dedicated to driving the strategic direction, growth, and operational excellence of the Oncology business unit. The successful candidate will possess a deep understanding of the onco-hematology market, exhibit strong leadership skills, and demonstrate an entrepreneurial spirit essential for building and developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the strategic plan for the Oncology business unit in alignment with GSK's overall objectives. Identify market opportunities and trends to drive growth and competitive advantage. Ensure the Oncology portfolio's alignment with the needs of patients, healthcare providers, and other key stakeholders.

  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of professionals, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability. Ensure the team is equipped with the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources to achieve business objectives. Promote a healthy work environment that encourages inclusion.

  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Oncology business unit, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and excellence. Manage the P&L for the Oncology Business Unit, ensuring financial targets are met or exceeded. Implement robust business processes to optimize performance and productivity.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Medical Associations, regulatory bodies, and industry partners. Represent GSK at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance the company's reputation and influence in the Oncology field. Collaborate with global and regional teams to align strategies and share best practices.

  • Compliance and Ethics: Ensure all activities and strategies comply with GSK’s ethical standards, legal requirements, and industry regulations. Promote and uphold GSK’s commitment to ethical business practices and patient-centricity.

Why YOU?

Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Degree in Business, Life Sciences, Medicine, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with at least 5 years in a Business Unit Head / Franchise Head leadership position and proven experience within the Oncology & Hematology fields.

  • Experience managing P&L with strong financial acumen.

  • Experience collaborating with global and regional teams.

  • Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

  • Skills: Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to navigate a complex and dynamic market environment. Demonstrated entrepreneurial spirit with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree.

  • Experience with Multiple Myeloma
