Job Description:

CYBER SECURITY SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER

A senior Project Manager to work on complex cyber security projects where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of multiple factors. The individual will lead and provide expertise to functional project teams and may participate in cross-functional initiatives. The individual will be expected to provide mentoring and guidance to more junior employees and act as an expert providing direction and guidance to process improvements and establishing policies. He/she must have the ability to represents the organization to external customers/clients. They must be able to exercise significant independent judgment within broadly defined policies and practices to determine best method for accomplishing work and achieving objectives. The Individual will have worked in an environment managing multiple projects for different clients, they must therefore have experience of Project Management methodologies and a variety of approaches to their implementation. Being able to enter new environments and understand process and build relationships quickly and effectively

RESPONSIBILITIES

Coordinates and integrate the work efforts and deliverables of a large multi-function, multivendor project team.

Project spanning multiple regions/countries.

Manages projects with aggressive but achievable client deadlines

Speaks with authority to all layers of depth related to project management methods

Understands Cyber Security at a generalist level and is able to articulate DXC Security’s POV

Identify and manage escalations effectively 

Mentor and train junior project managers

Define and Develop

  • Ensure a proper handover from Sales and Solutioning
  • Define project scope and project plan, including the budget and the schedule
  • Build and manage a financial model for the project

Manage

  • Manage project team activities to deliver on agreed targets and budget.
  • Manage and control Cost/Time & Scope, Risk and Change
  • Manage expectations & client relationship. Ensure projects are effectively resourced
  • Deliver projects according to the quality standards agreed at by DXC and client
  • Manages project financials including P&L
  • Plan and Manage Resources

Reporting

  • Monitor & report project progress, commercials and status into Programme/Portfolio Manager and stakeholders in accordance with DXC mandated procedures.

Communication

  • Communicate and coordinate project activities within the project team and ensure that priorities are developed and known.
  • Ensure that project milestones and targets are clearly understood within and outside the project such that the appropriate parties can marshal resources and activities to align with project delivery.

Business Development

  • Identifies and develops new opportunities with client
  • Supports early qualification and opportunity assessment for large and moderately complex opportunities
  • Acts as opportunity manager for medium to high-risk deals

EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Demonstrates an in depth understanding and experience of Project Management Methodologies.
  • Qualified in either PMI or Prince 2 (Practitioner)
  • Have a sound project management background gained within the IT industry managing security projects through the entire project lifecycle.
  • Core competence in Planning, Cost Estimating, Risk Management, Performance Management, Quality & Delivery Assurance.
  • Excellent record of Stakeholder Management.
  • Experience working within the Cyber Security world, managing specific security projects such as Identity and Access Management, Data Protection, etc
  • Project Delivery in an IT service environment.
