About Us - Sports Medicine

  • Our team provides athletic injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and follow-up evaluations tailored to your needs. From diagnosis to treatment, through rehabilitation and recovery, our team gets you back in the game. Actively involved in the community, our athletic trainers perform on-site injury assessment and treatment during athletic events. Because injuries don't always occur during regular business hours, we have a certified athletic trainer on-call every weekend.

 

What You’ll Do 

Searching for a highly motivated athletic trainer for local high school outreach coverage.  Establishing a work-life balance is incredibly important to us, therefore, working with a team of 10+ staffed ATCs helps with schedule flexibility. Although there are no clinical responsibilities, this position is based out of the Freeman Rehabilitation and Sports Center, located in Joplin, MO.  Freeman Sports Medicine prides ourselves on the flexibility of schedule during both the school year and summer, we have a phenomenal team of therapists and clinicians that are a valued resource, and we work closely with our Nationally recognized Orthopaedic physicians.  

Provide practice and event coverage for a Missouri Class 5-6A high school 

Establish and maintain a budget for athletic training supplies/equipment 

Establish athletic training room daily hours of operation in collaboration with the school's head athletic trainer 

Collaborate with athletic director to develop comprehensive venue and condition-specific emergency action plans
Establish a working relationship with the designated team physician and community physicians 

Maintain accurate and updated medical records on all injuries and rehabilitation procedures.  

Requirements 

Upon hire, must have Athletic Trainer license for the state in which they are practicing.

Preferred Requirements

Master's degree is preferred but will accept Bachelor's degree. Preferred two years of working experience as a Certified Athletic Trainer. New graduates are considered with active certification or licensure.
