Job Summary

As a Security Engineering – Senior Engineer, you are an expert in the Information, Engineering and Cyber Security domains, applying your extensive knowledge in security technologies, cloud and corporate networks to shape the security controls required within solution designs (both people, process and technical) and identify, communicate and help treat corresponding security risks.

Through your strong knowledge of existing and emerging technology, you are able deliver a superior security and network experience for our consumers. You do this by drawing on your deep levels of cyber security and engineering knowledge and experience to provide specialist analysis, design, development and deployment in Network and IT specific technology domains.

You play a pivotal role in shaping our technology strategy and protecting Telstra’s assets, acting as a trusted adviser to our people, teams, cyber, engineering and DevOps leaders to build our cyber capability.

What You’ll Do

•Senior Security Engineer works with Telstra Line of business to provide consulting and technical designs across various security & network platforms, develop and schedule change requests, provide and support for complex solutions. Operate within a dynamic Agile environment, ensuring seamless integration of security in each sprint.
•Also contribute to the effective development, assessment and integration of technology solutions, products, services and systems by working as part of a team to perform more complex investigations and carrying out operational tasks within processes and procedures.
•Lead the design and implementation of secure solutions within DevOps environment. Regularly perform and support after-hours deployments and changes, with flexibility to accommodate frequent out-of-hours work as required.
•The role will include working as a subject matter expert in specific technologies and will work autonomously on a day-to-day basis.

About You

•At least 7 to 8 years of experience in Security, Networks as Senior Designer or Engineer with large enterprise / Data centre environment.
•Relevant Tertiary Qualifications / Degree Educated (engineering or Computer science).
•Firewall, Security, Remote access (Juniper, Checkpoint, Cisco FTD, Palo Alto expert level)
•Routing and Switching, Expert hands on Nexus 7K interfaces, VRFs, VDCs, port-channels. VRF Lite and routing protocols
