At Micron, we are seeking an individual who exhibits exceptional talent and motivation to join our team as a Part Operations Engineer. This role offers a distinctive opportunity to contribute to a highly innovative company that is leading the way in transforming global information usage.

As a Parts Operations Engineer, you will have a vital role in our Technology Development department. You will be in charge of coordinating, analyzing, and optimizing the performance of a developing new part within the fab, aiming for top-notch quality and efficiency. Your operations and engineering expertise will allow you to efficiently implement and improve processes to thrive in a dynamic and goal-oriented industry, with heavy emphasis on cross-collaboration with various teams.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Partners with key team members to develop applications and processes to continuously improve production metrics.
  • Collaborate with engineering to plan for future product introduction.
  • Partners with the area Operations and Engineer teams to keep updated on area issues, priorities and projects.
  • Communicates' fabrication performance metrics to large diverse group of customers.
  • Effectively coordinates New Part Introduction (NPI) between teams.
  • Sets strategic and tactical plans for Work In Progress (WIP), Cycle Time (CT), and priority allocations in collaboration with various Engineering teams.
  • Drives operational planning for critical efforts ensuring we can meet critical timelines.
  • Develops standard processes, reports, dashboards, and other data visualizations to convey project status.
  • Plans, tracks and reports on key lot status.
  • Uses statistical analysis to optimize fab performance metrics and audit manufacturing capacity information.
  • Presents findings and recommends solutions to fab performance gaps.
  • Drives innovation by researching and using new data modeling techniques or tools.
  • Evaluates and collaborates on scenarios representing changes, performs what if scenarios as needed, and works with Engineering and Operations to understand the impact of the changes.
  • Innovates and implements best-in-class predictive models and decision tools to address business needs.
  • Seeks out novel methodologies and tools to better predict and track manufacturing key performance indicators.

Successful Candidates should have the following Qualifications:

  • Excellent multi-tasking, time-management, organization and prioritization skills.
  • Dedicated to establishing and maintaining effective relationships.
  • Able to communicate sophisticated analysis in a succinct and actionable manner.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Power Point.
  • Proven record identifying, developing, proposing, and implementing effective plans to drive overall efficiency.
  • Ability to organize and efficiently facilitate meetings and project teams.
  • Confirmed analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to fix sophisticated problems and address root causes.
  • Proven track record working with statistics, data analysis, and problem solving.
  • Knowledgeable working in tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Python, R.
  • In-depth knowledge of production line management techniques and theories.
  • Eagerness to learn and cultivate understanding of semiconductor production floor concepts and operations.
  • Understanding of Manufacturing Science (scheduling, inventory management, capacity planning)
  • Thorough and dedicated to achieving outstanding outcomes.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Operations Management, Supply Chain, equivalent degree, or confirmed experience
  • Preferred experience: At least 2 years of experience. Knowledge of the semiconductor manufacturing process in regards to capacity, automation, scheduling, cycle time and manufacturing efficiency.
