Position Purpose:

Focus on all Medicaid product needs related to New Business, Implementations, Regulatory & Compliance, and all other related efforts needed to support the health plans

Understand and set priorities between projects and set expectations around tradeoff decisions

Support all executive status reporting and tracking of progress for all projects and support alignment with status reporting across departments

Streamline all communications for the team and how we distribute messages out to the organization

Serve as the department's quarterback, helping ensure we stay on top of status reporting, executive presentations, etc., and that we are focused on the areas you want to communicate most to leadership and the broader organization

Coordinate your all-hands meetings, team checkpoints, and fun committee activities to ensure ongoing team engagement

Determines, monitors, reviews, and reports on all program attributes including program costs, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources, quality, and risks

Shares knowledge and develops team capabilities to strengthen understanding of IT and industry, business and best practices

Manages the hiring and training of new and existing staff, conducts performance reviews, provides leadership, technical guidance and coaching

Develops and communicates organizational objectives; inspires and motivates team members to achieve results

Provides strategy and change management thought leadership support opportunities

Provides direction to the project teams in areas of customer concerns, potential changes in scope, and risk assessment

Identifies key leading and lagging risk factors

Directs the implementation of new programs introduced into the plan

Builds and manage technology roadmaps

Drives departmental work processes for IT controls

Oversees project risks to ensure delivery of business goals

Prepares and delivers regular, effective communications to ensure that leadership and project sponsors are adequately apprised of project statuses, successes, risks and issues

Identifies, incorporates and supports project management best practices

Manages project managers in all phases of the project life cycle

Performs other duties as assigned

Complies with all policies and standards

Education/Experience:

Requires a Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related experience, including prior management experience.
Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.

Technical Skills:

  • One or more of the following skills are desired.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis; Stakeholder Management; Vendor Relationship Management
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Experience with Agile Management; Project Management
  • Experience with Other: developing, monitoring and managing project budgets and schedules.
  • Knowledge of Agile Management; Scrum (Software Development); Software Development Life Cycle

  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP)-PMI preferred

Pay Range: $185,200.00 - $352,700.00 per year

Centene offers a comprehensive benefits package including: competitive pay, health insurance, 401K and stock purchase plans, tuition reimbursement, paid time off plus holidays, and a flexible approach to work with remote, hybrid, field or office work schedules.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law.  Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
