JOB PURPOSE

The Senior Credit Manager will focus on customer-based accounting responsibilities with the ability to handle customer credit in accordance with Company procedures.  The Senior Credit Manager will ensure quality assessments are made on customers to prevent high risk collection situations. This position directs and oversees the daily management of the credit and AR departments. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Direct the staff and processes of the credit department.

· Determine staffing needs in regards to hiring, termination, and rotation of positions.

· Use independent judgment and discretion to ensure quality assessments are made on customers to prevent high risk collection situations. 

· Review bad debt and settlement accounts to adjust their reported balances.

· Review newly activated customers to ensure background checks and due diligence were performed to prevent high risk or fraudulence.

· Responsible for running daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

· Report AR collection totals, percentages, and customer activation activity.

· Follow up on accounts in active bankruptcy or litigation.

· Organize daily workflow and prioritize collection accounts.

· Review accounts of former brokers to address open loads and potential collection issues.

· Responsible for supporting the hiring efforts for the department.

· Assist with training, developing, and measuring performance.

· Support analysts in customer service issues and collections accounts. 

· Support staff in assigned team-based work.

· Maintain up-to-date awareness of company activities, industry trends, and government regulations.

· Completes required training. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or related field. 

· 3-5 years’ experience preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common industry documents and reports. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. 

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and basic arithmetic. 

· Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

· To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office and related computer programs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. Occasionally, the employee is required to lift boxes up to 20 pounds.

SCHEDULING

· This is a full-time benefits-eligible position, working Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. An employee in this position must be available to work occasionally on weekends and evenings, during peak periods.

TRAVEL

Local travel is required. Out of state travel is limited, but may be required for special training/conferences.
