KBR’s National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to our customers in the intelligence and national security communities.

Our team is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer with expertise in Microsoft Azure to join us in supporting our great nation and the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) development team in Colorado Springs, CO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deploy secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure primarily using Microsoft Azure with some secondary work in AWS
• Provision infrastructure in the cloud with Terraform
• Monitor and optimize cloud resources for performance, cost, and reliability
• Collaborate with development, data, and security teams to support cloud-native applications and services
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and services

 Work Environment:

• Location: Colorado Springs, CO – Hybrid or Onsite
• Travel Requirements: Minimal
• Working Hours: Flexible

Qualifications:

Required:

• Security Clearance: Must have an active U.S. government Top Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain SCI SI/TK, which is something only a U.S. citizen can obtain
• CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8140 qualification
• Education: B.S. in Computer Science. Other degrees will be considered with relevant work experience or certification
• 2+ years of experience provisioning Infrastructure in Azure using Terraform
• 3+ years of experience with Linux commands, shell navigation, and Git version control
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes and Containerization
• Understanding of cloud security best practices, identity and access management, and compliance frameworks
• Ability to research and solve complex technical problems independently

Desired:

• Cloud Certifications such as:
  • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Azure Administrator Associate
  • AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
• Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (CDS) and air-gapped deployments
• Experience building GitLab CI/CD pipelines
• Experience deploying helm charts
• Experience containerizing applications

Basic Compensation: $115,200 - $172,800 (For the Colorado Springs Area Only)

The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity. 

Additional Compensation: 

KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of a sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
