Overall Responsibilities: We are seeking a skilled Application Support Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing Level 3 (L3) support for applications, troubleshooting issues, fixing minor bugs, and ensuring the applications run smoothly. You will work closely with development teams, system administrators, and other stakeholders to maintain and improve the performance and reliability of our applications.

Technical Skills:

Programming:

  • Proficiency in Java or Python, with the ability to read and write code.

Cloud Platforms:

  • Basic knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including IAM, Kubernetes, and Cloud Run.

Database Management:

  • Strong SQL skills, including joins and aggregate functions.

CI/CD Pipelines:

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines in GitLab and GitLab commands.

Web Services:

  • Understanding of REST APIs and web services.

Operating Systems:

  • Experience with Unix/Linux is a plus.

Experience:

  • Proven 6+ experience in a software support role, preferably in an L3 Application Support environment.
  • Experience troubleshooting and fixing minor bugs in applications.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms, CI/CD pipelines, and databases.

Day-to-Day Activities:

  • Provide Level 3 (L3) support for applications, troubleshooting issues and fixing minor bugs.
  • Monitor application performance and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with development teams to understand and resolve application-related problems.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
  • Write and execute SQL queries to manage and retrieve data from databases.
  • Utilize GCP tools and services to manage and maintain cloud-based applications.
  • Ensure the reliability and performance of applications by performing regular maintenance and updates.
  • Document support processes and procedures for future reference.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in Java, Python, GCP, or SQL are a plus.
