U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to client specific government/federal requirements. Must have Secret Clearance.

 

The System Safety Engineering will provide the engineering team with the application of safety policies and guidance. Individuals will support MDA and other program personnel as required and other system engineering tasks. Successful candidates will interface with team members and National Team management to ensure high-quality products are generated on time and within available resources. Regular travel between Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Huntsville, Alabama, will be required.

 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within an integrated team to define the physical, functional, and technical architecture for evolving BMDS Battle Management, Command & Control, and Communications (BMDS BM/C2/Comms)
  • Integrate product lines including Battle Management (BM), Command & Control (C2), and Networks
  • Develop capability specifications and contribute to responsible sections of technical documentation
  • Mentor junior personnel, providing training in System Engineering and Safety techniques
  • Review technical products to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Serve as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts as needed
  • Independently conduct Safety analyses, including Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) and Subsystem Hazard Analysis (SSHA)
  • Support updates to Safety Analysis Reports (SARs) by incorporating findings from safety assessments

 

 

Qualifications

  • System Engineering background with a focus on System and Software Safety.
  • Ability to identify and define desired system capabilities
  • Experience modeling interrelationships between internal and external system components
  • Strong communication skills to convey system capabilities to developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users
  • Proficiency in generating system- and element-level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and ensure capability achievement
  • In-depth knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, and techniques

 

Education & Clearance

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred)
  • Minimum Active SECRET Clearance required
 

 

 

 

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.

$100,000$120,000 USD
