Position Title: Occupational & Environmental Health (OEH) Medical Assistant
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: OEH RN

POSITION SUMMARY:
Provides health education and guidance to ensure safe work practices. Supports employee health and safety programs which ensure the minimization of occupational illness and injury. Collaborates with members of the organization and assists with occupational and environmental health programs. Tracks employee health requirements and maintains employee health records. Supports and communicates with ill and injured employees. Assists with the planning and implementation of job related immunization and testing programs. Responsible for the accurate tracking of all employee health information.

Starting Wage: $17.26

The posted wage is the current starting wage for this position. Actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS


Certification/Licensure:

  • Current BLS certification

Education:

  • Medical Assistant Certificate or Diploma with completion of clinical internship hours, or Military Medical Specialist training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Skills/Experience:

  • 1 year of experience working in an occupational health or related healthcare field
  • Knowledge of Google’s G Suite
  • Basic knowledge of computers and general office procedures.
  • Ability to use basic clinical instruments.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


Certification/Licensure:

  • Certified Medical Assistant.

Education:

  • Master’s degree in nursing, Public Health, Education, or related field.

Skills/Experience:

  • Experience in a health-care related setting.
  • Experience in body mechanics, job analysis, ergonomics, and ADA regulations.
  • Experience in occupational/employee health.

EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS USED
Office supplies and equipment, including telephone, computer and multifunction devices (MFDs). Google’s G Suite, report writer and database software. Manuals, forms, records and reports. Audiovisual equipment including DVD, TV, overhead projector, and slide projector. Vehicle for outside meetings.
