In this vital role as the Director, HR Transformation and Change, you will be responsible for driving transformative changes in our HR department and leveraging data to inform and shape the HR organization’s strategies. You will work closely with HR leaders, cross-functional teams, and external partners to re-imagine an HR function that is not only efficient but also data-informed. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in both shaping the future of our organization and elevating our employee experiences.

Responsibilities:

HR Transformation

  • Partner with HR leaders to shape and develop the execution strategy and project plans for large HR initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR leaders and other stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the HR function.
  • Drive the organization’s alignment with the HR transformation initiatives while recognizing and respecting the cultural shift required of employees by the transformation initiative.
  • Champion the adoption of modern HR technologies and practices that streamline existing HR processes.

Project Management

  • Manage a team of program managers (both internal and external resources)
  • Manage HR transformation projects, including defining project scopes, budgets, people resources and timelines.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams and external consultants to ensure timely project delivery, and the creation and reporting of success metrics.
  • Track and report project progress to senior management.

Data-Driven Insights

  • Provide leadership and oversight to the compensation analytics team.
  • Deliver actionable recommendations to HR leadership based on data elements found in Amgen’s compensation data.
  • Collaborate with HR, Finance, and other relevant departments to integrate compensation strategies into the budget and plans for broader organizational initiatives.
  • Provide strategic leadership for the development of new or refinement of existing comprehensive compensation-related reports and dashboards to clearly communicate findings and insights.
  • Support change management efforts with data-driven reports and dashboards to enhance the value HR strategic initiatives can expect to deliver for the enterprise.

Change Management

  • Develop and deliver change management capability for HR broadly
  • Act as a change agent in the organization, leading efforts to ensure the successful adoption of new HR practices and technologies.
  • Develop change management plans, communication strategies, and training programs.
  • Utilize data to quantify and then monitor the impact of HR changes and recommend adjustments as needed.

Compliance and Best Practices

  • Stay up-to-date with HR best practices and legal compliance.
  • Ensure that HR transformation initiatives align with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Mitigate risks and maintain data privacy and security standards.

Basic Qualifications:

Doctorate degree and 4 years of HR project or program management experience

Or

Master’s degree and 8 years of HR project or program management experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of HR project or program management experience

In addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, you must have at least 4 years experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs, or directing the allocation or resources. Your managerial experience may run concurrently with the required technical experience referenced above

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in leading HR transformation initiatives, preferably in a complex, global organization.

  • Demonstrated background in data analytics and HR metrics.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in both change management and project management leadership.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to storyline and prepare executive-level discussion documents

  • Excellent conceptual problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to bring structure to vaguely defined problems, pragmatically scope problem solving approach, and manage execution

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytic skills

  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to influence different styles

  • Independent, motivated, team member with experience in a matrix environment

  • Project Management certification

  • Certifications in HR or change management would be a plus.

  • Master's degree preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of HR technologies and tools.

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.

Salary Range

195,187.00 USD - 232,225.00 USD
