Specialist, Procurement – Rx Packaging & Devices

Are you energised by a procurement role that allows you to positively impact millions of people around the world? If so, this Procurement Specialist role in the Packaging and Devices team could be an ideal opportunity to explore.

In this position you will have a chance to work and develop within the Respiratory Devices & Packaging procurement team, particularly working in the Device & 3rd party capital area. You will collaborate closely with the Category Managers & Capital SME with the creation, execution, implementation, and management of 3rd Party Capital Projects and Programs from concept to completion collaborating with Suppliers and GSK MSAT teams.

In addition to this you will have the opportunity to support the Category Managers, to create, execution, implementation, and management of comprehensive global sourcing strategies primarily across our Respiratory Devices and Packaging spend, supporting the business in enabling sales growth, security of supply, quality, and cost improvements at a global scale.

In this role you will…

  • Lead monthly performance management with 3rd party suppliers to ensure project financial milestones are delivered

  • Manage 3rd Party Capital spend working with Procurement & Technical teams to develop strategies, business cases, budget requirements & governance endorsement through key senior business stakeholders

  • Lead and present monthly Capital Spend performance management with internal GSK financial partners

  • Create project budgets, Purchase Order, and project milestone budgets to ensure effective financial management

  • Manage monthly and yearly spend forecasts vs actuals spend and re-forecasting to ensure spend performance accuracy

  • Support the GSK financial plan cycle through accurate 3-year project spend forecasts & ensure budget sign off

  • Continuous Improvement of 3rd Party Capital ways of working

  • Internal and external stakeholder management on key Capital projects

  • Support, develop and drive Sustainability roadmaps to deliver GSK’s commitment on sustainability

  • Support contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance. Negotiate with suppliers and work with legal in bringing a contract from draft form to completion

  • Support & deliver global benefits identified in strategies through effective strategy execution, aligned to assurance of supply (risk management), compliance, quality, service, cost, and innovation

  • Liaison with GSK Finance Partner and P2P teams

Why you? 

Qualifications & Skills:

  • 1-2 years of operational Procurement experience across multiple categories of spend and some experience of regulated environments 

  • Awareness of Procurement tools such as sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, supplier development and others 

  • Ability to work in high pressure environment, often under tight deadlines to drive & implement change

  • Financial acumen 

  • Good written and verbal communication skills – fluent English. 

  • Awareness of cost benchmark & financial audit with key supplier and legal matters (contracting) 

  • Understanding of risk management

  • Previous experience in Operational Procurement / P2P / SAP and / or Ariba would be an advantage

  • Operational MS Excel (Intermediate Level) experience
