Overview

To be responsible for the effective operation of the Carvery Department by maximizing sales and gross profit, ensuring sales’ goals and budgets are met and providing customers with the best quality foods, ensuring courteous, timely customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring exceptional customer service is provided in a courteous manner to maintain our reputation for friendly, effective, and personalized experience.
  • To oversee the effective ordering, production, merchandising of all carvery products and ensure attractive displays to maintain and increase sales;
  • To plan daily production sheets to ensure variety in carvery products, and effectively prioritize  and organize all production and department functions;
  • To effectively control inventory through pricing and signage of carvery products to achieve company goals and budget so as to maximize sales and profits;
  • To maximize sales and gross profit, ensuring sales’ goals, budgets and shrink targets are met;
  • To schedule, direct, supervise and discipline department staff and train all new employees;
  • To be responsible for the opening and/or closing functions of the department;
  • To ensure the maintenance of equipment and the safety and sanitation of the production and back room areas, as per Company Policy;
  • To ensure compliance with the company food safety standards, regulations and audits;
  • To respond to any customer inquiries, requests, and complaints, ensuring courteous customer relations at all times;
  • To interpret and administer Company policy and ensure compliance with the Collective Agreement;
  • To perform other duties, as required.

The Ideal Candidate Would Possess:

  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years’ experience in food production, preferably in a retail or restaurant environment;
  • Previous managerial experience and knowledge of production schedules is a definite asset;
  • Flexibility to work a variety of hours which include days, evening, nights, and weekends;
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  • Must possess excellent organization, communication and interpersonal skills.
