What is a Reliability Compliance Analyst?
The Reliability Compliance team is part of the Engineering Standards and Compliance group and provides guidance and oversight related to NERC Reliability Standards for a wide range of company organizations including design, planning, information technology, and operations. The Reliability Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the company maintains compliance with the relevant NERC Standards by reviewing and updating policies and procedures, performing periodic assessments of company performance for individual standards, and providing support to the subject matter experts during audits and other regulatory engagements. To keep up with the ever-evolving regulatory environment, the Reliability Compliance Analyst is expected to participate in regional and statewide committee meetings, attend webinars and workshops, and monitor communications from NERC, NPCC, FERC, and others, and disseminate relevant information to various personnel within the Company.
What does a Reliability Compliance Analyst do?
Provides support and assistance to multiple areas of the Company regarding reliability compliance in relation to the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), and Northeast Power Coordinating Council (NPCC) electric reliability standards and requirements, and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) as it pertains to BPS/BES reliability
Assists with developing, evaluating, and managing documentation and evidence to ensure policies and procedures that address compliance issues associated with the Bulk Power System (BPS) and the Bulk Electric System (BES) are in accordance with the Company’s current NERC registration
Manages workflows of compliance data to ensure timely, accurate, and complete compliance submissions
Fosters a strong culture of compliance throughout the Company by recommending and implementing new and innovative methods and sound controls to keep all applicable areas of the Company current with compliance matters
Supports storm/emergency restoration efforts
What does it take to be a Reliability Compliance Analyst?
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, cyber security, business administration, or related field and 2 years of work experience in electric generation, electric transmission, electric distribution, engineering, operations, or operational technology
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new computer software programs
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills and the ability to develop clear, concise, and audit-quality documentation
Strong data gathering, analytical and organizational skills
Must be able to meet deadlines and recognize their importance
Valid driver’s license
Preferred:
Experience in electric reliability compliance
Knowledge of NERC Electric Reliability Standards and NERC Cybersecurity Standards
Experience participating in groups/committees such as the Northeast Power Coordinating Council, NYS Reliability Council, NYISO, and PSC task forces

This position has a career path which allows for advancement opportunities within a job series. The title and level are commensurate with experience. Pay range: $81,300 - $168,700
