As a Director of Board Advisory reporting to the AVP and Head of Boad Advisory for the Americas, you’ll play a critical role as a strategic advisor to boards and executive teams of public, private, and non-profit corporations helping them assess and enhance the quality of governance and the board’s effectiveness. The Director of Board Advisory will work in the Compliance and Board Advisory business unit to foster growth in Nasdaq's overall Governance Solutions and will create and maintain relationships to board members, executives, and business leaders globally.

  • Build and maintain relationships with board members, CEOs, corporate secretaries, attorneys, professional services firms, associations, issuers, regulators, and others in the corporate governance. 
  • Help clients develop and facilitate their board and management evaluation processes and action planning. 
  • Facilitate board education sessions and counsel clients through governance advisory engagements to enable effective governance practices. 
  • Represent Nasdaq by participating as a speaker at industry events, conferences, webinars, and media events including Nasdaq’s own. 
  • Conduct governance research and develop thought leadership publications.  
  • Support business development and sales initiatives for Nasdaq Governance Solutions and collaborate with internal leaders to expand our service and software capabilities that support our corporate governance offerings. 

  • Experience with public company reporting obligations and a general understanding of trends and regulations related to corporations and corporate governance 
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication in English with demonstrated experience presenting to boards and/or C-suite executives in virtual and in-person environments 
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and reconcile complex circumstances with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, while working with tight deadlines
  • A team-first mentality and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional groups 
  • Passion for sharing knowledge and desire to continuously learn about emerging corporate governance practices across diverse industries, company sizes, and geographies 
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science, preferably in a business or legal field 
  • 10 years of experience in business, +5 years of experience in a relevant role advising clients on corporate governance-related matters and/or advising boards and/or executives

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Law degree (preferred active legal license) and/or MBA (or equivalent) 
  • Has worked in law firm, consulting firm, corporate legal department, or corporate secretary’s department 

 
This position is located in New York and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment (at least 3 days a week in office, subject to change), providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.

The base pay range for this role is $98,000 - $181,000. In addition to base salary, Nasdaq provides a generous annual bonus/commission (short-term incentive), and equity (long-term incentive), comprehensive benefits, and opportunity for growth. Exact compensation may vary based on several job-related factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, experience, education/training, business needs and market demands.
