The Manager, Inventory Optimization oversees sales operations processes and activities to ensure company, client, and team goals are met. This role is responsible for optimizing inventory flow, minimizing inventory aging, and providing an excellent customer experience. The manager oversees the Sales Metrics and Inventory Analysts, guiding them in tracking sales metrics, managing inventory, executing the weekly auction process, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as Device Care Center (DCC) operations, engineering, planning & analytics, sales, and sales execution. Success in this role is measured by maintaining low inventory turnaround times, ensuring continuous inventory movement, and optimizing device value and throughput.

The ideal candidate will be located in Dallas TX or Nashville TN, but remote candidates will be considered.

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • Manage optimization of inventory levels by monitoring trends, ensuring alignment with sales strategies, client priorities, and Global Supply Chain objectives, while facilitating strategic actions cross-functionally with the sales and operations teams
  • Manage analytics and provide recurring and ad hoc analysis on sales results and inventory levels; develop and maintain automated reporting solutions measure KPIs and recommend solutions to exceed sales targets and client KPIs
  • Oversee the weekly auction process, including item selection, execution, post-auction analytics, and collaborate on auction outcomes
  • Work collaboratively with DCC operations, engineering, planning & analytics, sales, account teams, and other cross-functional teams to optimize processes and enhance sales outcomes
  • Manage, mentor, and develop analysts, fostering professional growth
  • Lead and manage projects and process improvements in inventory management and sales analytics to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Act as subject matter expert for AVR on the inventory management systems (Oracle)
  • Influence and develop daily bid response strategies by analyzing market dynamics, client requirements, and inventory status to optimize sales opportunities
  • Manage the purchase order process to secure longer-term customer commitments
  • Optimize sorting tools with operations to ensure efficient inventory grouping, maximizing device value and throughput
  • Support strategic initiatives by assisting the Director of AVR Pricing and Sales Analytics on projects and participating in strategic planning

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
  • 5 years of experience in sales operations, inventory management, supply chain, or related fields
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to derive insights from large data sets
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SQL, and experience with ERP systems such as Oracle
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Familiarity with auction platforms and processes
  • Ability to communicate effectively with peers and management team
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple departments
  • Strong interpersonal skills to engage with cross-functional teams
  • Proven strategic thinking skills with the ability to implement process improvements

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Master’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems
  • Experience in the telecommunications industry, secondary/reverse logistics industry, or with mobile devices
  • Working knowledge of mobile phones, carriers, and OEMs
  • Previous experience managing auction processes or online sales platforms
  • Experience optimizing sorting tools and processes to enhance inventory grouping

Pay Range:

$101,500.00 - $169,400.00

Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
