M&A Analyst – VIE / Internship

Alira Health is a global consulting firm providing a continuum of services to the healthcare industry players mimicking the lifecycle of their products and services.

Alira Health’s services include Clinical Trials, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Strategic Consulting, and Transaction Advisory.

The Transaction Advisory group of Alira Health provides advisory and execution support for M&A transactions (sell-side, buy-side, asset deals, carve-outs) and Licensing In and Out. We advise mostly European- and US-based clients across the Healthcare industry, such as Healthcare Providers, Pharma & Biopharma companies, Medical Device companies, Suppliers, CDMOs, CROs, Services providers, Private Equity and VC firms, etc.     

THE ROLE

We are looking for an M&A analyst to join us for 12 or 18 months in our Barcelona office; with the potential to stay full-time based on performance. Depending on the candidate's profile, we may consider a 6-month internship.

As an analyst, you will work on internal and client projects as part of a team and will play a key role in gathering and analyzing data, preparing process-related documents, conducting comprehensive market and business analyses, and identifying strategic opportunities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct research and business analysis of healthcare companies and segments.
  • Support in the preparation of marketing documents for M&A transactions (teaser, Memorandum of Information, Management Presentations…).
  • Conduct secondary research to form hypotheses and solutions to address clients/targets questions.
  • Work with the team to synthesize findings and refine recommendations.
  • Develop and edit slide presentations or other communications to convey insights and recommendations of the team.
  • Monitor important developments, initiatives, news, legislation, corporation activities, and M&A transactions, analyzing the impact of strategies and business plans.
  • Assist in the elaboration of financial valuations (transaction and trading multiples, DCF).
  • Assist in the preparation of business proposals, presentations, and marketing materials.

PREPARATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Students with degrees in business, Economics, Finance, or MSc in Life Sciences related programs looking for an internship at the intersection of transaction advisory and healthcare industries.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Excellent proficiency and experience with Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint are a must)
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Good internal and external communication
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Healthcare, engineering, or Life Sciences studies and/or meaningful past experience in these areas is strongly desirable but non-essential
  • Strong finance basis and company valuation techniques
