What you will do

Johnson Controls is looking for a ULC Coordinator to conduct the following:

  • Oversee the ULC program for security Canada.
  • Review and implement ULC code and changes with the operations of JCI Canada.
  • Monthly review of ULC accounts for JCI to ensure current and accurate.
  • Liaise with local operational managers to work with ULC inspectors and deficiencies.
  • Work with local managers and ULC inspectors for on-site audits.
  • Review and enhance ULC inspection processes and forms.
  • Customer service requests for ULC certificates and information.

 

What we look for

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in Fire or Security inspections or other major industries.
  • ULC training and experience preferable.    
  • Strong PC literacy, advanced.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A strong work ethic and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to navigate through matrix organization and multi-task, problem-solve, and adapt to change in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with a minimum of guidance and oversight.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks

 

HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $21.15 -$31.25 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)

What you do:

Responsible for the operations and maintenance of building systems to include; electrical, HVAC, alarm monitoring/ response, and/or other contracted activities. Communicate with Customer Business Manager and O&M team on operational issues.

How you will do it:

  • Performs maintenance duties with a focus on electrical systems including lighting, low voltage accessories, fire panels, security systems and Audio Visual.

  • Performs routine inspections of building’s life safety systems including but not limited to: back up generators, UPS, emergency lighting

  • Monitoring of Computerized Management Maintenance System (CMMS) for work orders and timely completion of preventative maintenance tasks and demand tasks

  • Conducts extensive self-study (reading, research and practice) to improve and maintain technical proficiency in facility’s systems. Completes certifications as required by the company

  • Proficient use of hand and power tools/instruments including drills, saws, mutli-meter, etc

  • Supervise and coordinate work performed by subcontracted services.

  • Assists with parts research/procurement and maintaining parts inventory

  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot building systems issues and convey findings to additional technical resources when needed

  • Interact with customers/tenants in a positive and cooperative manner

  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and adheres to company standards.

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.

  • Performs other miscellaneous maintenance duties as requested.

What we look for

Required:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.

  • Five or more years of technical experience in facility operations and maintenance

  • Basic computer experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word and CMMS

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

  • Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.

  • Will be required to respond to occasional emergencies outside of normal business hours.

  • Must be physically able to perform maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, which includes ability to: climb ladders, work in confined spaces, lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs., etc.
