eBay, Inc. seeks MTS 2, Software Engineer in San Jose, CA

Job Duties: Check the requirements of customers and analyze the details. Based on the ability of the platform, find the gaps and provide solutions. Host discussion with the open-source project upstream community, as needed. Code for the features and test functionality. Check for the schedule of the feature. Code and test to finish the implementation stage. Lead the release of the feature. Deploy the feature to the cloud platform, schedule the release, and the feature rollout timeline. Work with customers to gather any implementation issues if any rollout issues are reported.

Minimum Requirements: Master’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus two years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. Employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering or a closely related field plus five years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.

Special Skill Requirements:

1. Proficient in managing comprehensive cloud infrastructure, encompassing compute, security, storage, and network components. (2 years)

2. Expertise in C, C++, Golang and Shell scripting for feature development and seamless service maintenance. (2 years)

3. Extensive experience in Linux kernel network protocol stack, with in-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, Netfilter, IPVS, and iptables. (2 years)

4. In-depth understanding of server hardware components such as CPU, memory, NIC card (2 years)

5. Proven track record in performance tuning for optimized system functionality. (2 years)
6. Proficient in Kubernetes and Docker for efficient containerized deployments. (2 years)

7. Specialized in eBPF tracing for advanced performance analysis and debugging. (2 years)

8. Skilled in the configuration and management of software load balancers and service mesh architectures. (2 years)
 

Base salary: $172,931-234,850.00 per annum. 40 hours per week; M-F, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 

Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
