The EBI Analyst II serves as a strategic analytics partner to department chairs, clinical leaders, administrators, and regional hospital leadership. This role leads the development and optimization of business intelligence solutions that drive operational, financial, and clinical performance. Acting as a bridge between stakeholders and EBI Developers, the analyst defines data requirements, ensures accurate sourcing, applies standardized business rules, and supports the deployment of high-impact dashboards and reporting tools. The role also provides mentorship and guidance to Level I Analysts, fostering analytical excellence across the team.
Leveraging advanced tools including SAS, Tableau, Snowflake, Oracle, and Microsoft Excel the EBI Analyst II transforms complex clinical and operational data into clear, actionable insights. Supporting HVTI, one of the Cleveland Clinic’s largest institutes and one of the nation’s top-ranked heart hospitals, this position plays a critical role in enabling data-driven decision-making within a world-class healthcare environment. Success requires the ability to quickly master clinical data systems, understand healthcare workflows, and translate analytics into meaningful strategies that directly support patient care and organizational performance.
The EBI Analyst II collaborates cross-functionally with clinical leadership, administrators, regional hospital partners, and fellow analytics professionals to design scalable reporting solutions, align metrics with strategic goals, and continuously enhance data governance and visualization standards.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM – 5:00PM. This position will be on site Mondays only and remote Tuesday - Friday. There may an occasional need for an onsite day for meetings but would be infrequent.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Facilitate the creation of new operational indicators by identifying process improvement opportunities and utilizing disparate data sources to provide timely, accurate and meaningful decision support tools.
Utilize computer skills to maintain complex reporting systems essential to providing timely and accurate reporting.
Become an expert in at least two Cleveland Clinic subject matters, such as patient occupancy, patient experience, operating room utilization, Professional Coding and physician productivity.
Serve as a technical resource in the analysis and evaluation of operations and financial functions of clinical areas as related to utilization management and operational indicator performance.
Interpret and present data analysis results, including explanation of statistical and financial techniques used, assumptions made and summary of results.
Document methods and interpretation of results for future reference.
Create summary and detail reports for online dashboards and other platforms for all levels of the Cleveland Clinic utilizing dashboard software.
Ensure the quality and data integrity of reports, making improvements and adjustments as needed.
Provide guidance to level I Analysts when needed.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field and two years of related experience
OR High School Diploma/GED and six years of database development or analytical experience
OR Associate’s Degree and four years of database development or analytical experience
OR Master’s Degree and one year of experience
Strong computer skills and be proficient with various applications including, Access, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong analytical skills and ability to research/trouble shoot problems
Strong written and verbal skills to communicate complex information to administrative leadership
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Two years of related experience
Business objects and t-SQL programming experience
Physical Requirements:
Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information.
Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods.
Ability to work with physical records or operate a computer or other office equipment.
In some locations, ability to travel throughout the hospital system.
In some locations ability to move up to 25 lbs.
