We are looking for a highly motivated student to join our team!  

Our Intern Program is designed to support the development of students and recent graduates for future positions by offering one-on-one mentoring, peer and experiential learning, internal training programs, and much more. We are currently accepting applications for undergraduate and master’s level students or recent graduates seeking the opportunity to work in the investment management space.  

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Intern, Compliance to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with personal trading statement monitoring, policy review, and creating compliance monitoring dashboards. You will collaborate with various teams and functions to ensure adherence to policies and regulations. Additionally, you will attend daily Compliance Team meetings and provide recommendations for process improvements.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Assist with personal trading statement monitoring to ensure compliance with company policies and industry best practices.

  • Review and where necessary document required revisions to IMCO policies to ensure that they comply with current governance requirements.

  • Partner with IT and senior members of the Compliance team to design and/or review Microsoft Power BI dashboards that monitor core compliance tasks and identify potential issues.

  • Perform and update analysis for investments using external diligence programs.

  • Collaborate with various IMCO functions to gather information and ensure organizational compliance with laws and regulations.

  • Attend daily meetings to provide updates on compliance monitoring activities.

  • Research changes to various laws and regulations as requested.

  • Make recommendations for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

What You Need to Succeed:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to analyze complex information to identify trends and patterns.

  • Curiosity and a questioning mindset, including asking thoughtful questions, which will help us strengthen existing compliance processes.

  • Understanding of best practices in policy management and compliance monitoring.

  • Advanced technical skills in Microsoft products, including Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Experience in building and/or using dashboards and/or monitoring tools, ideally using Microsoft Power BI.

  • Excellent written communication skills to effectively read, assess and revise corporate policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.

The base salary range for this position is CAD $45,000 to $65,000. The placement within the range is determined by the role and assessment of the candidate’s year of study and relevant work experience.
