Performs a variety of tasks including setup, administration, end-user functional and technical support, training, vendor interfacing, data management and reporting assistance for departments. In addition, this position will troubleshoot problems, develop reports, and maintain and upgrade the application(s). The Business Analyst II is expected to independently perform the full range of business and analytical support functions with only occasional instruction or assistance. Additionally, the position must apply well developed business and analytical knowledge, and exercise judgment and initiative.
Daily Operations
- Responsible for the data management, analysis, reporting and contributing to data driven projects (i.e. axiUm, Banner, Blackboard, Simple Syllabus).
- Develops and maintains queries using enterprise application tools; creates and maintains reports using enterprise-reporting tools.
- Prepares progress reports for Academic Affairs.
- Develops customized reports, as requested.
- Testing Center Troubleshooting and Resolution.
- Responds to trouble calls and provides business level support in the troubleshooting of user problems.
- Acts as the conduit for support issues that must be escalated to the supporting vendors.
- Researches and provides answers to questions regarding functionality of enterprise software applications.
- Creates and maintains end-user training materials, and conducts training sessions to ensure that applications are being optimally used.
- Performs administrative tasks within enterprise software applications, including setup, user administration, and software configuration.
- Administer new hire training for axiUM and Dentrix.
- Organizes and leads the implementation of new enterprise software installations, and migrations; organizes and leads testing efforts during software upgrades or patching cycles.
- Provides assistance in the evaluation phase of new enterprise software acquisitions; from client requirements, determines methods of integrating and interfacing between existing applications to meet user needs.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or, Management related discipline required
- At least 3 years of recent data management, reporting, and business analysis experience is required
- Proven ability to communicate both oral and written information to all levels of an organization
- Ability to create high level and detailed business requirements, use cases and decompose those into functional specifications
- Knowledge of IT best operating practices and methodologies
- Effectively create and maintain requirements, data mapping, and other project documentation
