Position overview

We are looking for a media planner buyer to join our smart, fun and award-winning New Balance team. In this role, you will be the day-to-day steward for your client(s), including accurate budget control and flow of media activity across partnerships, digital, social, TV, outdoor and audio. We manage New Balance’s brand media across Europe from our London hub so you will also be planning in different markets.   

At Mediahub your roles and responsibilities will be centred around the below core competencies. These include but are not limited to:

  • Client Service
    • Contribute to weekly client calls
    • Presenting to clients with support from the team
    • Understand the client’s business, the industry in which they operate, their business and campaign objectives and the difference between those two

 

  • Media Strategy & Execution
    • Work on responses to brief, including audience insights, planning scenarios and creating media plans
    • Demonstrate proficiency with industry systems/tools (TGI, GWI, YouGov, Nielson)
    • Display a good understanding of all relevant media channels and key partners
    • Manage the deliver of weekly reports and contribute to post-campaign analysis
    • Manage the trafficking of digital campaigns, working closely with our in house Ad Ops team

 

  • Commercial
    • Help to negotiate media costs with media owners
    • Book campaigns accurately and by set deadlines to help ensure a smooth finance process

 

  • Career Development & Team Management
    • We’ll give you training in all the key tools we use for audience insights and scenario planning, as well as channel training
    • Longer-term, work towards Account Manger role

 

Desired Skills and Experience

We’re looking for someone who ticks some or all of these boxes:

  • Media planning experience required across digital & offline media
  • Great Excel and Powerpoint skills
  • Has great communication skills
  • Has strong attention-to-detail
  • Enjoys working as part of a fast-paced team
  • Experience planning, negotiating and executing across all digital channels including, OLV, Social, Mobile, etc.
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders, e.g. suppliers, advertising/marketing agencies, media owners and internal specialist resources
  • Loves a challenge and is keen to get stuck in
  • Is excited to learn more about New Balance
  • Is interested in sport, fashion and/or cultural trends
