Job Description​

Saint Luke’s Hospital on the Plaza is looking for an Medical LabTech Assistant to join our lab team.

The MLT Assistant performs medical laboratory testing classified as moderate or waived complexity in a CLIA-certified laboratory.  

  • Full-time days, 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday
  • Has working knowledge of and performs waived and moderate complex and specifically-identified, highly complex testing in accordance with laboratory's policy, procedures and regulatory standards.  
  • Successful performance in laboratory's external proficiency program.    
  • Organizes and prioritizes technical tasks with efficiency and minimal waste.  
  • Performs preventive maintenance of equipment and instrumentation within procedural guidelines and under the direction of a MLS or MLT.  
  • Reports waived and moderate complexity laboratory results in the Hospital LIS/EMR, as ordered by providers, and under the direction and review of MLS or MLT.    
  • Reviews and approves quality control results to affirm validity of patient results.  
  • Maintains instrumentation and confirms acceptable performance.    
  • Recognizes technical and/or instrumental issues that interfere with accurate testing and appropriately consults with a MLS or MLT for direction.    
  • Must have a BS in a science concentration
