Job Description:

The Finance and Accounting Systems (F&A) Supervisor manages the daily support, maintenance, and enhancements of the F&A system. He/She supports UPS users globally and serves as liaison between application users, technical support teams, and developers for system enhancement projects and production issues. The F&A Systems Supervisor is responsible for project management, logic design and development, enhancement testing, business analysis, policies & procedures, system change requirements and management, user training, and production support. He/She may supervise specialists and administrative assistants along with other supervisors. The F&A Systems Supervisor communicates with users and recreates issues to test and obtain detailed results. In this role, the supervisor provides the IT department with specific descriptions reflecting system problems. This supervisor reviews user requests to ensure alignment with business needs, objectives, and practices. He/She coordinates and monitors project activities and change requests from application users to gather, analyze, plan, communicate, document, and execute testing scenarios verifying system enhancements meet requirements.  This position develops global standards and enhances process efficiencies.

Responsibilities:

  • Project analysis, logic design, development, and testing.
  • Performs extensive data mining and analysis using SQL & Excel.
  • Research, analyze, and determine the source of issues and errors.
  • Analyzes records by performing regression testing and reconciliations.
  • Production environment processing, troubleshooting, user support, and maintenance.  
  • Records testing defects and coordinates with users and developers to resolve issues.
  • Document and communicate business processes and system impacts.
  • Develop test scenarios to validate system functionality and enhancements.
  • Executes test scenarios to ensure systems are built according to requirements.
  • Adapts level of detail required for a given audience.
  • Support audit requirements and requests.
  • Develop plans that balance details with the big picture.
  • Manages projects through complete lifecycle including Initiation, Feasibility, Analysis, Execution and Closeout phases.
  • Schedules and facilitates meetings to discuss project details.
  • Captures and follows up on project issues and action items to ensure completion of tasks.
  • Gathers and documents business & functional requirements.
  • Creates system diagrams and business process flows to document current and future state.
  • Analyze and monitor user acceptance testing results to ensure testing objectives are met.
  • Assesses user training needs and coordinates change management and training activities.
  • Creates training materials and delivers training to users.
  • Reviews and analyzes business requirement requests for validity and feasibility. 


Qualifications:

  • Technical aptitude to quickly learn internal and external systems.
  • Experience with enterprise finance and accounting systems. - Preferred
  • Experience with data analysis, testing, and reconciliations. – Preferred
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel. - Preferred
  • Develop SQL queries. – Preferred
  • Knowledge of general accounting and intercompany concepts. – Preferred
  • Experience with project management.
  • Demonstrates, communicates, and applies general understanding of technology.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Captures and documents specific information, to thoroughly and accurately complete work.
  • Supplies appropriate details when requested and maintains organized files.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, or a related field - Preferred
