THE ROLE

The Lead Concessions Stand Attendant is responsible for overseeing the operation of an assigned concession location during events. This position serves as the primary on-site leader for stand employees and is responsible for driving operational efficiency, ensuring excellent guest service, maintaining food safety standards, supporting cash accountability, and directing team performance.

The Lead Concessions Stand Attendant is expected to focus on managing the operation, supervising staff, and maintaining service standards rather than routinely performing production or cashier duties. The Lead may work operational positions when business demands require additional support, staffing challenges arise, or management directs them to assist with guest volume.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership & Team Management

  • Direct and oversee the activities of all concession stand team members.
  • Assign workstations and responsibilities based on business needs and staffing levels.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and real-time feedback to employees throughout events.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and operational support.
  • Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment.
  • Support the onboarding and training of new team members.

Operations Management

  • Ensure assigned concession stand is fully prepared and operational prior to guest arrival.
  • Monitor service flow and adjust staffing assignments to maximize efficiency and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, operating procedures, and venue standards.
  • Ensure products are prepared, displayed, and served according to established quality standards.
  • Communicate operational concerns, equipment issues, and staffing challenges to management.
  • Support event execution and operational goals established by Food & Beverage leadership.

Guest Experience

  • Promote a culture of outstanding guest service.
  • Address guest concerns, complaints, and service recovery situations professionally and efficiently.
  • Monitor service times and guest interactions to ensure service standards are consistently achieved.
  • Assist employees in handling challenging guest situations when necessary.

Inventory & Cash Accountability

  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment of products and supplies.
  • Assist with stand opening and closing inventories as assigned.
  • Ensure accurate cash handling procedures are followed by all team members.
  • Verify proper usage of POS systems and assist with register accountability.
  • Complete required operational documentation and reports.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
  • Promote workplace safety and immediately report accidents, injuries, and hazards.
  • Enforce company standards regarding uniform compliance and professional conduct.

Additional Duties

  • Provide direct operational support during peak periods or when directed by leadership.
  • Assist with other food and beverage operations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum one (1) year of food service, concessions, hospitality, or customer service experience required.
  • Previous lead, supervisory, or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate team members.
  • Working knowledge of cash handling and POS systems.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to remain professional under pressure.
  • Food Handler Certification preferred or ability to obtain.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds.
  • Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to work in crowded and fast-paced event environments.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a part-time, event-based position located at Pechanga Arena San Diego. Applicants must be available to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other event-related schedules.
