Ambulatory Nurse Manager

As a Nurse Manager, you will manage the practice of professional nursing and the delivery of care for non-hospitalized or ambulatory patients within a department, procedural area, infusion area and/or institute at one or more locations. Caregivers in this role provide clinical supervision and direction, ensure regulatory compliance, maintain quality and safety outcomes, supervise all aspects of personnel management and development, and collaborate with department leadership, administration and the nursing director.
A caregiver in this position works between the hours of 7:30am – 5:00pm.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Collaborate with liaison departments in maintaining patient care standards utilizing evidence-based practice as applicable.
Participate in clinical nursing research and support Cleveland Clinic research activities.
Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of care.
Manage the operation of a unit by analyzing personnel structure, determining staffing needs, monitoring productivity, and providing direction.
Provide supervision, evaluate performance and conduct the selection and termination process.
Develop strategic plans in alignment with enterprise initiatives.
Ensure the clinical team works at the top of their licensure/responsibility.
Actively promote staff and self-development.
Develop and maintain unit related patient care standards through continuous quality improvement.
Develop quality and safety initiatives to provide the highest level of care.
Oversee the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure efficient, effective, evidence-based delivery of health services.
Attain and maintain JC and other regulatory standards.
Fosters patient and caregiver satisfaction.
Promote shared decision making with input from caregivers.
Assist in the development and monitoring of the budget.
Approve purchases and establish and revise inventory quotes.
Direct unit participation in the evaluation of new products as applicable.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN).
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
Three years of experience as a clinical nurse.
Demonstrated skills in leadership, management, communication, counseling, problem solving, decision making, conflict resolution and group processes.
High degree of clinical expertise in specialty area managed.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Master’s degree in nursing (MSN).
Nursing certification in a specialty area.
