We are seeking an experienced leader to manage the day-to-day operations of a value stream, ensuring that approved products are manufactured in alignment with Solar’s business plan, quality standards, and cost objectives. This position reports directly to the General Manager and plays a critical role in driving operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety: Foster a safe work environment through education, awareness, and ownership; meet corporate safety goals; conduct accident investigations and implement corrective actions.
- Operational Leadership: Oversee all production and related activities within the value stream to meet business objectives.
- Schedule Execution: Ensure on-time delivery to meet customer needs; develop plans to achieve production capacity for annual demand and long-term forecasts; lead daily activities to meet commitments.
- Employee Development: Manage a diverse team; define training requirements; conduct performance appraisals and career development planning; promote team building and engagement.
- Process Improvement: Develop current and future state value stream maps; meet manufacturing cycle time goals; lead continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma methodologies; improve quality, reduce cycle time, and increase capacity.
- Cost Management: Control overtime, headcount, operational budgets, employee expenses, and capital projects; manage WIP inventory effectively.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Actively participate in planning and operations teams; maintain value stream metrics for cycle time, cost, and quality.
- 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry.
- Experience in turbine and mechanical industry environments is considered an advantage.
- Proven track record of leading teams and executing projects successfully.
- Strategic thinking and ability to develop and implement operational strategies.
- Knowledge of ERP and MES systems is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with production planning, capacity planning, and value stream mapping.
- Excellent communication skills; fluency in English and Czech required.
- Ability to prioritize and perform in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a diverse workforce.
Preferred Skills
- Expertise in manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques and Six Sigma.
- Technical knowledge of products, lean supply chain management, and engineering processes.
- Experience with production control and continuous improvement initiatives.
