The Laboratory Administrative Services Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of laboratory administrative operations and staff, including The Laboratory Administrative Services Supervisor is responsible for the daily oversight of laboratory administrative operations and staff, including supervision of billing, courier and support staff, charge reconciliation, processing billing statements for monthly clients, coordinating requests for special projects, and ensuring the production and distribution of monthly statistics and financial reports. Provides assistance to Director in overseeing all client and administrative support services for the laboratories.

Job Description

Essential Functions:

  • Supervises laboratory administrative support staff, including scheduling, work assignments,performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, etc.

  • Directs, plans, and manages assigned section(s) of administrative functions in alignment with thedepartmental and hospital goals.

  • Organizes and coordinates services provided, oversees operations, and manages workflow andbudget in accordance with hospital’s policies and procedures.

  • Participates in strategic development of the department: develops staff and facilities to meet newand existing needs.

  • Works on interdisciplinary teams and projects to further the overall goals of the organization.

  • Assists the Director in preparation of Clinical Laboratory capital and operating budgets.

  • Other duties and special projects as directed by the Director.

Education: High school diploma/GED required. Associate's or bachelor's in business or sciences preferred.

Experience: 5 years medical administrative experience, clinical lab setting strongly preferred. 2 years prior experience in a supervisory or lead role preferred.
