Job Description:

Scope of Position:                   Perform all plating, descaling, cleaning and drying procedures on product as required. Monitor & Control performance of processes through sampling & analysis as defined.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Perform all Plating functions in accordance with established manufacturing procedures and work instructions e.g. weight counting of parts, plating thickness and composition.
  • Complete fume hood duties as outlined in WI-Chemical Clean e.g. various ink-strip, descale and cleaning operations.
  • Conduct visual inspection of product through all processing steps and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Carry out regular plating samples & analysis as dictated by Engineering and /or procedures. This would include use of the XRF and maintenance of SPC charts.
  • Carry out daily calibration of XRF machine & carry out XRF measurements of Engineering release samples.
  • Perform titrations on plating and pre-treatment baths as required.
  • Completion of paperwork and Axapta.
  • Ensure and maintain quality & quantity of product in accordance with approved schedules and targets.
  • Maintain equipment and materials within assigned area, tanks and other equipment as directed or as defined in Engineering Maintenance schedules. This includes restocking of all baths, chemical and water (town & DI), changing of filters, Danglers and anodes, cleaning of plating barrels and similar functions and updating maintenance logs.
  • Work with stores department, to ensure that stocks are maintained at the correct level.
  • Support stores and Engineering with waste management as required.
  • Report any problems to your supervisor and Engineering/Maintenance where necessary.
  • Receive & Deliver product to and from plate shop keeping all required production records.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards in all areas of work in compliance with 6S requirements including any cleaning schedules with special emphasis on Health & Safety Issues.
  • Perform all duties in accordance with safety regulations including the use and wear of recommended safety equipment & personal protective equipment. 
  • Membership of Emergency response Spill team.
  • Perform as required once off samples or special project work.
  • Perform other duties or tasks as assigned.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Chemical handling experience is an advantage
  • Leaving Certificate or equilivant.
  • Excellent English Communications Skills, both written and verbal.
  • Computer literacy essential especially MS Office.
  • Team Player and ability to work on own initiative.
  • Flexible and willing to cover shifts/operations as required.
