Identifies opportunities to introduce new services appropriate for an ambulatory surgery center while maintaining a strong understanding of the ASC’s fiscal responsibilities.
Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
Performs other duties as assigned and/or participates in special projects in order to support the mission of VCUHS and the Department. Provides assistance to team members. Accepts alternate assignments, as required, graciously.
Patient Population: Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide equitable care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit. Demonstrates knowledge and related competencies of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age, specific needs and to provide the equitable care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures. Minimum Qualifications
Years and Type of Required Experience: Seven years (7) of relevant experience with three (3) years of leadership experience in a surgery center and/or perioperative setting required.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Minimum of 5 years in progressive leadership role. Preferred Experience in academic medical center environment.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: Physician relations, risk management, ability to build a positive team culture, dealing appropriately with staff conflict. Effectively communicating with staff and promoting two-way communications. Proactively promoting staff satisfaction and retention and taking prompt action to address concerns or issues.
