Job Purpose:

The Field Contract Manager is responsible for managing and optimizing the quotation and contract process. This professional serves as the primary contact for contract-related matters. He/she ensures that contracts are concluded and adhered to according to plan, enabling the achievement of business goals. The Field Contract Manager identifies commercial opportunities and risks and advises/supports the brand teams and BU heads.

Key Responsibilities:

Contract Cycle and Monitoring:

  • Support the entire quotation and contract cycle: initiation, monitoring, termination, and renewal.
  • Monitor compliance with contractual obligations by all parties involved (internal and external).
  • Monitor contract performance and identify/analyze deviations or bottlenecks.
  • Prepare reports on contract status, performance, and risks.

Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for quotation and contract-related questions and escalations.
  • Actively listen to the needs of internal and external stakeholders and proactively propose or provide solutions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders involved in the quotation and contracting process.

Terms and Optimization:

  • Prepare contract terms, pricing proposals, and additional service/support, aiming to achieve optimal results for the organization.
  • Review (additional) purchasing conditions from hospitals and procurement groups for bottlenecks/risks and align with Legal.
  • Identify commercial opportunities within existing contracts and propose improvements.
  • Resolve contractual disputes and find mutually acceptable solutions.

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Identify and mitigate contractual risks (legal, financial, operational).
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, external laws and regulations (e.g., CGR, AVG), and ethical standards.
  • Document contractual agreements and changes in accordance with applicable guidelines.

Internal Collaboration:

  • Work closely with various internal departments such as Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Represent the contract management function in internal (brand) team meetings.

Basic Qualifications:

• Education:
A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Business Administration, Commercial Economics, Pharmacy, Health Sciences).

• Experience:
Proven work experience (minimum 3–5 years) in account or contract management or a comparable role, preferably in the pharmaceutical industry or a highly regulated sector.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Contract management, contract law, and general purchasing/sales terms and conditions.
  • Understanding of the pharmaceutical market, product life cycles, and relevant laws and regulations (e.g., CGR).
  • Knowledge of financial management and budgeting in relation to contracts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Commercial acumen and a proactive, results-oriented mindset.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and contract management software is an advantage.
