Department Overview

The Cloud Automation and Integration team is responsible for onboarding and fine - tuning the best Infrastructure as a Code practices to the IT organization at HedgeServ, as well as, for promoting a DevOps mindset and approach to all IT issues and challenges. CAI works closely with multiple technical and business teams within the organization, striving to achieve operational excellence. Our focus is the AWS public cloud and the various tools that the provider offers. The team excels in solving difficult operational problems by automating workflows and processes. 

Job Description

The DevOps Engineer @ CAI will be responsible for building and maintaining different solutions for the HedgeServ infrastructure, both on-prem and AWS based. They will work closely with other IT and Dev teams within the organization to engineer robust solutions that adhere to the best practices of the AWS Well-Architected Framework. The DevOps Engineer is expected to challenge the Status Quo and propose improvements and optimization every time the opportunity arises. 

Role Responsibilities

  • Build infrastructure automation solutions (CI/CD pipelines and jobs) 

  • Implement and improve existing solutions 

  • Participate in design sessions with stakeholders from IT, Dev and Business units 

  • Propose changes to solutions to maximize Return of Investment 

  • Build custom QA for solutions that guarantee seamless deployments without supervision 

  • Attend decision making sessions and advocate best practices when it comes to the DevOps / Infrastructure domain 

  • Provide forth level support to Ops teams 

Pre-Requisite Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor`s or Master`s degree in Computer Science or related field 

  • At least 2 years of experience as DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer or Systems Administrator 

  • Working knowledge of AWS (core building blocks, containers, serverless stack) 

  • Proficiency in IaaC tools (Terraform) 

  • Proficiency in Configuration Management (Ansible) 

  • Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelining tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.) 

  • Skills in scripting (bash, powershell, python) 

  • Working knowledge of Linux OS (RHEL preferred) 

  • Working knowledge of Windows OS (WS 2019) 

  • Understanding of networking and security concepts (OSI Model, encryption in-transit and at-rest) 

  • Be a well-organized and self-motivated individual that can oversee a task to its successful completion 

  • Strong decision-making and solution ownership skills

Nice To Have

  • Working knowledge of container orchestration tools (K8S, EKS, etc.) 

  • AWS Certification 

  • Prior hands-on experience with any high-level programming language
