· Configuring monitoring systems to provide visibility on performance and availability of infrastructure and core services running on our private cloud.
· Managing accounts and access control policies to enable users to access resources securely.
· Assisting teams to deploy services and workloads using vCenter and tooling such as Gitlab, Python and Ansible.
· Troubleshooting and resolving faults and performance issues within the environment as they arise.
Skills and Experience Required:
· 5+ years’ experience in an operational role, whether that be cloud infrastructure, SRE or traditional network/server management.
· Strong Understanding of datacenter networking concepts and protocols including routing, firewall policies and multi-tenant leaf & spine architecture using eVPN/VxLAN.
· Experience managing datacenter network, storage and compute platforms including VMware, NAS and distributed storage, Cisco IOS or Arista EOS.
· Experience configuring and troubleshooting VMware ESXi, vCenter Server and related tools.
· Solid scripting skills using Bash, PowerShell, Python, Java, Go and other languages.
· Experience using Active Directory, WSUS, and LDAP.
· Experience and drive to define reproducible infrastructure as code, using tools like Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, and CloudFormation
· Understanding of tools and principles to implement monitoring, change control and incident response.
· Understanding of datacenter practices and procedures, and the ability to guide remote hands to complete on-site work such as rack & cabling, and parts replacement.
· Attention to security and reliability, desire to work with others and maintain clear and useful documentation and runbooks
You’re practically a shoe-in if you:
· Have a confident understanding of OSPF, eBGP, iBGP and IPv6.
· Have advanced understanding of ESXi and Linux server operating environments.
· Have worked on a multi-datacenter production environment.
· Are proactive to identify and resolve development and customer problems.
