Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long-term, low-cost provider of American-produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana-based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Using reliable, proven technology in an innovative plant design configuration, Venture Global’s modular, mid-scale plant design will replace traditional designs as it allows for the same efficiency and operational reliability at significantly lower capital cost.

This role reports to the Director, Technology, Instruments and Controls and will be responsible for ensures the stability, reliability, and integrity of data communications on Operational Technology (OT) networks at operational sites.

The successful candidate shall be a technical SME in OT Networks with in-depth understanding on Industrial Control Systems and Industrial Networks.

The OT Analyst shall provide resolution for break-fix network problems and assists in design and implementation to improve OT network infrastructure and reliability. This individual is an escalation point, including after-hours, for advanced networking related issues. Responsible for assisting with the design, installation, configuration, maintenance, and documentation of network systems/solutions, and serve as technical support for Operations and projects.

Expert knowledge in general Cybersecurity and Network Management, used Information Technology environment is key in successful performance of this job, such as:

  • Experience and success with LAN, WAN, and WLAN design and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of network planning, network security principles, and general network management best practices.
  • Working knowledge of core routing and switching design principles, best practices, and related technologies.
  • Experience in implementing and managing both local area and wide area networks.
  • Working Experience with Cisco and/or Hirschmann Networking products
  • Working with Controls equipment in an industrial setting in engineering or operations.

 Additionally, this individual shall provide, as a minimum, entry level reliability support to the Operations team with focus in the following areas:

  • Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA): With expertise in relevant techniques to adequately lead RCFA exercises for failures relating to plant equipment and/or processes.
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM): With adequate knowledge in relevant techniques to drive fine-tuning & improvements in existing Maintenance practices to achieve a cost-effective, yet safe robust Maintenance strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, deployment, maintenance, diagrams, processes, and service records.
  • Prepare Documentation as needed with the assumption you will be unavailable during various outages/disasters and another OT Analyst will be responding.
  • Monitor network performance, troubleshoot, and resolve problem areas as needed.
  • On-call and needs to respond on-site as needed; typically as a secondary resource for network related issues
  • Under guidance, upgrade and replace hardware as needed to ensure smooth and reliable operation to meet business objectives.
  • Under guidance, perform system backups, recovery, and comprehensive testing of the backup procedures and backups.
  • Collaborate with team and other departments to assess short-term and long-term network needs.
  • Follow and maintain policies, procedures, and associated plans for network administration.
  • Research and provide recommendations for reliable and maintainable solutions to meet clearly defined requirements.
  • Work with the team to design, test, configure, upgrade, document, and deploy OT network equipment and connections, including servers for network administration, routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Conduct research on network products, security issues, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the Oil and Gas production industry.
  • Recommend/implement solutions to address or improve cybersecurity concerns.
  • Initiate OT Network changes as required utilizing VGLNG’s management of change (MoC) process together with documentation changes.

Education and Certifications: 

  • Possession of an associate’s degree in Information Technology (IT), computer science or related field and 8 year of relevant networking experience; Or Possession of a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology (IT), computer science or related field with 4 years of relevant experience.
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification or CCNP preferred.
