Leidos has an opening for a Sr. Programmer supporting an agile customer who recognizes how young airmen most effectively learn today, and is revolutionizing their training. The Sr. Programmer will work on a team with 3D Video Game Artists and Courseware Developers to create engaging lessons for future officers and enlisted Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) analysts. You will have the opportunity to use your unique skills to support projects such as: (1) Interactive animated exercise that assists in teaching advanced and complex weapon guidance theories; (2) 3D animations of aircraft performing aerial maneuvers or on-the-ground “petting zoo” vehicle tours; (3) Fire school equipment 3D showcase application where users can pick up firefighting equipment, rotate and get better views, and see detailed descriptions of each piece of equipment; (4) 3D bombs and fuses game where users can zoom in, spin and rotate, and play a simulation where students can destroy targets using the bombs and fuses they selected; and (5) Air Tasking Order turn-based strategy game teaching students how to design aircraft packages to eliminate targets with optimal effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, modify, and update web-based IMI and technical inserts using client-side scripting and markup languages, including, but not limited to HTML5, AJAX, JavaScript and its libraries and frameworks

  • Use server-side scripting languages (currently PHP) to manipulate and display IMI

  • Construct database queries, forms and reports using many types of databases which may include some of the following: MySQL, SQL, MongoDB, and Access

  • Collaborate with video game artists, and understand their contributing assets, to integrate 3D models into instructional games and web inserts

  • Work with the integration team to inject curriculum into various LMSs

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. Or 4 years of experience and relevant software development certifications.

  • 8-12 years of relevant experience.

  • Familiar with software such as: Angular JS, CSS, Ember.js, JavaScript, jQuery, Microsoft SQL Server, Node.j, PHP, React, Vue.js, C#

  • Current TS/SCI security clearance OR ability to obtain (requires US citizenship)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Knowledge in Unity 3D and Unreal Engine 5

  • Ability to build and maintain both the front-end and back-end of a website/emulator

Pay Range:

Pay Range $101,400.00 - $183,300.00
