About the Role


We are seeking a seasoned Engineering Manager or a high-performing Lead Engineer ready to transition into engineering leadership. This leader will drive Quality Enablement, Performance Engineering, and AI-led initiatives across the organization. The role requires deep technical expertise, strong cross-functional influence, and the ability to build scalable engineering capabilities that elevate product quality, performance, and developer productivity.


This is a hands-on technical leadership role

Responsibilities

  • Lead a central engineering team focused on Quality Enablement, Performance Engineering, and AI-driven automation.

  • Build and scale AI agents, intelligent QE frameworks, and platform capabilities.

  • Lead performance engineering initiatives, including framework development, load modeling, performance tuning, and bottleneck analysis.

  • Provide architectural guidance on distributed systems, backend design, and cloud-native patterns.

  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Cloud, DevEx, and Product teams to drive cross-company technical initiatives.

  • Manage and mentor senior engineers, fostering engineering excellence, productivity, and high-quality delivery.


Required Skills

  • 9+ years of experience in software engineering or performance engineering.

  • Hands-on expertise with AI/LLM systems—including building agents, RAG pipelines, and automation workflows.

  • Strong backend development experience (Java, Go, Python, Node, or similar).

  • Strong background in system design, distributed architecture, and API design.

  • Practical experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud services.

  • Proficiency with containers and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes or Nomad).

  • Excellent communication skills and proven ability to lead cross-functional engineering efforts.


Nice to Have

  • Hands-on experience with AI Eval / AI evaluation frameworks.

  • Prior experience in Performance Engineering.

  • Experience building internal developer tools, frameworks, or platforms.

  • Knowledge of observability tooling (Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK).

RESPONSIBILITIES • Mentor engineers through coaching, 1:1s, and career planning • Collaborate across Product, Design, and Engineering teams • Drive code reviews, architecture planning, and system monitoring • Manage Agile ceremonies including planning, retrospectives, backlog grooming • Champion innovation and continuous improvement • Support hiring and onboarding of new engineers EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE • 6+ years of related experience; advanced degree with 4+ years acceptable • 1-2 years managing and developing employees • Strong Agile delivery and project management experience • Expertise in enterprise software deployment and system reliability • Strong leadership and mentoring track record

This position requires fluent written and oral communication in English.
