Job Description:
This job is responsible for supporting the development and execution of strategic initiatives and/or processes aligned to priorities within a functional area and/or business. Key responsibilities include defining, developing, executing, monitoring, and/or refining strategic initiatives and processes in close collaboration with key stakeholders and internal partners.

  • As part of the Merchant Engagement team; work directly with merchants, acquirer/processors, and Payment Networks to improve card processing performance; including operational efficiencies and approval rates. Utilize issuing analytics to drive value to merchant partnerships.
  • Partner with Merchant Services and Treasury to support and deepen existing merchant relationships and support prospecting efforts to attract new merchant clients and grow the business.
  • Analyze data and develop executive level presentations to support Merchant Services and Treasury clients
  • Complete transaction level research to identify performance gaps and production issues.  Share recommendations to improve payment processing to merchants and acquirer/processors.
  • Work with merchants, processors, acquirers, and internal product areas to promote and implement new payment functionality (i.e. 3DS Data-only, merchant data sharing,Trusted Transactions)
  • Resolve identified data integrity and compliance related items within Payments community.
  • Develop creative methods of improving processing through the authorization process.
  • While this position has no direct people management responsibilities, it does require the ability to interact with business partners both within and external to the department. This position requires being the subject matter expert on multiple business-related and technical-related topics and an ability to independently drive strategic improvements.
  • Manage payment related projects across issuing and acquiring with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Builds and/or executes business initiatives and/or processes, while partnering with stakeholders and partners
  • Solves complex problems and delivers on business initiatives and processes by applying subject matter expertise and technical knowledge of the business
  • Engages with key stakeholders, partners, and business leadership to deliver on business objectives
  • Performs analytics, assessments, and/or interpretation of data and/or information to identify business opportunities, derive insights, and measure outcomes
  • Develops strategic and tactical plans to drive progress towards business goals and objectives

Required Skills:

  • Executive level presentation skills

  • 2 Year Project management related experience

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint user

  • 5 Years of Credit Card / Debit Card operational experience

  • Strong relationship / business partnering skills

  • Ability to influence others and negotiate desired outcomes

  • Demonstrated strong research and data analysis competency / ability to research card transaction level detail

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Attention to detail combined with excellent organizational skills

  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to shifting business priorities

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of Think Cell and ability to create executive level presentations

  • Experience working with BI / Data Visualization Platforms (ie. Microstrategy, Tableau)

  • Merchant Acquiring experience

  • 5 Years of Strategic Analysis experience

Minimum Education Requirement: High School Diploma / GED / Secondary School or equivalent
