  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00a-4:30p

A Brief Overview:
The RN Clinical Educator is a critical role responsible for providing clinical education, training, and mentorship to nursing staff, including Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs). The Clinical Educator plays a vital role in enhancing the skills and knowledge of nursing professionals, promoting evidence-based practice, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

What you will do:

  • Develop, deliver, and facilitate educational programs and training sessions for nursing staff, covering a range of clinical topics and skills.
  • Provide comprehensive orientation programs for new nursing hires, ensuring they are well-prepared to deliver safe and effective patient care.
  • Assess the clinical competence of nursing staff through skill evaluations, competency assessments, and clinical simulations.
  • Collaborate with the nursing leadership team to develop and update educational materials, curricula, and learning resources.
  • Mentor and guide nursing staff in their professional growth, identifying opportunities for skill enhancement and career development.
  • Teach and reinforce clinical skills, including IV therapy, wound care, medication administration, and other relevant nursing procedures.
  • Promote evidence-based practice among nursing staff, encouraging the application of the latest research and best practices in patient care.
  • Stay current with advances in nursing practice, guidelines, and technology to ensure the delivery of safe and high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments, nursing leaders, and healthcare professionals to integrate educational initiatives with clinical practice.
  • Maintain accurate records of educational programs, attendance, and competency assessments.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make recommendations for improvements and enhancements.
  • Ensure that nursing staff meet regulatory requirements and hospital policies for education and competency.

What you will need:

  • Bachelors Degree Nursing Required
  • Masters Degree Nursing is desirable
  • 5+ Years of clinical nursing experience, with demonstrated expertise in relevant nursing specialties. And
  • Experience in nursing education, curriculum development, and program delivery
  • Registered Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Illinois. Required
