Description:

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Construction Risk Engineering team at Marsh. This role will be based in Singapore. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

As a Construction Risk Engineer, you will be part of a high-performing team focused on assessing and managing risks associated with construction projects. You will work closely with clients to provide expert analysis and solutions that ensure operational reliability and safety across the Asia region.

We will count on you to:

  • Plan and execute underwriting surveys for Construction clients and prospects across Asia, including travel planning, leading survey teams, and producing reports to deadlines.
  • Travel up to 60 days per year, typically Monday to Friday.
  • Support the Construction Practice for insurance underwriting surveys and risk management surveys in Asia.
  • Provide technical support to clients and prospects, including attending meetings, seminars, and renewal roadshows, and managing annual survey plans for large clients.
  • Develop Deep Dive Reviews, Loss Estimations related to Asset Integrity, Inspection, Maintenance, Operations, and Process Safety Management.
  • Support fee collection for risk engineering services and assist the Claims Practice as needed.
  • Attend technical seminars, conferences, and training to maintain and develop competencies.
  • Create thought leadership content such as papers and contributions to Marsh newsletters and events.
  • Identify and deliver business development opportunities including consultancy work and workshops.
  • Support tender proposals for clients and prospects within the Construction Practice.

What you need to have:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related technical field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience within the Construction Industry.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Good presentation skills and confidence in leading workshops.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel frequently.

  • Professional certifications related to risk management, or a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering.
  • Hands-on site experience, ideally with a Contractor or on-site design/supervision team.
  • Experience with industry-specific software tools and risk modelling.
  • Excellent knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance standards in Construction.
  • Deep understanding of construction industry aspects including soils, foundations, civils, heavy civils, buildings, and project management, with on-site experience.
