The VP - Senior Underwriter will work closely with key business divisions, including the Origination, Closing, Servicing, Transformation and Legal divisions.

We are committed to growing your career, so in this role you will:

  • Ensure adherence to company policies and GSE housing underwriting standards, and review debt application packages for guideline conformance and loan sizing.
  • Critically review borrower credit information, third-party reports, and property details to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Draft and finalize underwriting submittal packages, including transaction analysis, risk discussion, and waiver requests, and ensure accuracy and compliance with GSE guidelines.
  • Provide support during the closing process to ensure conformity with credit terms and keep the team informed of project progress and issues.
  • Offer training and mentoring on GSE housing programs, stay updated on policies and legislation, and participate in process improvements and technological initiatives.

We are passionate about your growth, so to achieve success in this role you should have: 

  • Exceptional credit sense, judgment, and decision-making skills with strong technical skills in underwriting, structuring, and closing complex multifamily deals.
  • Independent worker with strong project management skills, excellent accuracy, attention to detail, and adaptability to industry changes.
  • Ability to travel for property inspections, Agency training, industry and company conferences, and training of analysts as required.
  • Five years minimum of Fannie Mae multifamily underwriting. (Freddie Mac underwriting experience also considered) 
  • Demonstrable expertise in managing and executing multifamily transactions.
