The Automotive Business Unit Market Insight team supports the development and execution of the Automotive’s strategic plan and providing guidance on Investor Relations Report by conducting a diverse set of analyses to enable in-depth understanding across the organization of the behavior of our industry by:

  • Studying industry, competitor, and customer developments
  • Monitoring and evaluating impact of trends
  • Gathering quantitative/qualitative data, conducting analysis, and deriving forward-looking insights to develop market models for the Automotive market segments
  • Coordinating with other orgs such as Sales and Investor Relations to ensure a consistent view of the marketplace

The Automotive Market Analyst will play a critical role in the accomplishment of these goals, with duties including

  • Collecting, organizing, and analyzing data to monitor strat plan progress against goals and identify barriers to success.
  • Work with other divisional and cross-organizational analysts to ensure quality and consistency of strategic analysis across the enterprise.
  • Manage a library of data and analyses to support strategic issue resolution and decision making, including market TAM/SAM modeling.
  • Supports development and management of an executable business/strategic plan
  • Supports communication of critical themes and messages to internal and external stakeholders
  • Managing and maintaining systems and processes that help to manage the business
  • Special project assignments as needed (e.g., Investor Relations inquiries, competitive/M&A inquiries, new market data, etc.)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in technical, economic, or data-science discipline
  • Work experience in automotive, consulting, or investment banking
  • Skills with Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience with strategy/management consulting firms, internal strategy groups of related companies, or an equity research firm covering technology-related market segments
  • Ability to break down complex problems into pieces that can be solved with data, analysis, assumptions, and judgment
  • Ability to create large financial models, strategic frameworks, and PowerPoint presentations at a level on par with leading management consulting firms.  Facility with advanced data analysis techniques such as multivariate regressions and working with large unstructured data sets is a plus
  • Ability to communicate—both in writing and in person—clearly, concisely, and persuasively
  • Ability to manage multiple projects efficiently with manager guidance
  • Comfortable working at a fast pace with demanding deadlines and with limited or imperfect information
  • Enthusiasm for collaboration, and building strong, trusting relationships with colleagues across all levels and areas of the company
  • Passion for the automotive industry and the impact it can have on our world

The expected wage range for a new hire into this position is $108,800 to $149,600.
  • Actual wage offered may vary depending on work location, experience, education, training, external market data, internal pay equity, or other bona fide factors.

  • This position qualifies for a discretionary performance-based bonus which is based on personal and company factors.
