Job Description

Senior Financial Analyst

Position Located in: Albany, NY

Position in Albany, NY supporting TEL Technology Center, America [TTCA].  TTCA is a key innovation hub where science and engineering meet to support TEL business needs and create revolutionary technology enabling a sustainable world.

Responsibilities:

  • Financial analysis and insight generation
  • Provide analysis driven business advice: Act as a financial advisor to TTCA leaders by understanding their business and providing insightful and value-added analysis.
  • Monitor financial performance: Design and build reports monitoring financial performance relative to strategic goals and objectives.
  • Business partnership and collaboration
  • Manage business planning: Manage bi-annual business plan and outlook process, long-term providing ROI and KPIs for investments.
  • Develop partnerships with businesses: Serve as a trusted finance partner and develop strong, collaborative relationships with executive level business partners and key stakeholders throughout the organization.
  • Monitor KPIs and identify the cause of any unexpected variances.
  • Develop and continually improve budgeting, financial projections, and operating forecasts.
  • Ad-hoc business performance reporting.
  • Present the monthly and quarterly financial reports of various units and departments.
  • Implement a business intelligence tool and dashboard reports.
  • Develop financial models and analyze them to support strategic initiatives.

Experiences:

  • Financial planning: 8 to 10-plus years of experience in an FP&A, strategic finance, or planning role
  • Applying Planning tools: Experience in the use of financial planning tools (e.g., Anaplan, Essbase)
  • Data insight generation: Experience conducting quantitative/financial analysis and developing recommendations

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • MS Office Suite: Extremely proficient with Excel, PowerPoint, experience working with large data sets
  • BI and ERP: Advanced proficiency with various BI tools and ERP systems (preferably SAP)
  • Analytics: Superior analytical and quantitative skills
  • Accounting: Baseline level of understanding Capital, Leases, Prepaids, etc
  • Learning and coaching: Ability to learn, implement and train others on accounting systems
  • Influencing: Demonstrated success in influencing and engaging stakeholders,

Education:
Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of related experience; or Master's Degree with 6 years of related experience.

CPA or CMA preferred but not required

Physical Demands and Work Conditions:
The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This job operates in an office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. This is a largely sedentary role; however, some filing is required, which would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 35 pounds. This position also requires 4 to 6 hours per day at a computer screen/keyboard.

Salary Ranges

Individual pay is determined based on multiple factors, including but not limited to location, experience, skills, job-related knowledge, relevant education, certifications, and/or training.  In addition to base salary, we offer (full time regular employees ) a comprehensive benefits package and for certain roles eligibility in our bonus plan and long-term incentives as applicable.  The talent advisor can share more details about total compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.
