At XPeng Robotics Center, we are dedicated to the development of state-of-the-art humanoid robot technology, including robotics locomotion, manipulation, navigation, and human-robot interaction powered by large language models. We possess a world-class team of software and hardware professionals. 

We are looking for a outstanding Performance Development Engineer to participate in the optimization of our next-generation humanoid robot systems. This role involves a holistic approach to performance improvement, spanning from mechanical systems and electronics to control algorithms and embedded systems. You will be at the forefront of pushing the boundaries of robotic performance by focusing on motion precision, system responsiveness, and energy efficiency. This is not just about development—it’s about innovation and delivering cutting-edge solutions across complex interdisciplinary challenges.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cross-Disciplinary Performance Optimization: Participate in end-to-end performance development, integrating mechanical systems, control algorithms, and embedded systems to enhance overall system functionality.
  • System Bottleneck Identification: Conduct in-depth analysis to identify performance bottlenecks across hardware, software, and control systems, and provide data-driven solutions for continuous improvement.
  • Leverage Advanced Technologies: Apply AI and machine learning algorithms to optimize system performance, using predictive models and adaptive learning to improve real-world robotic behavior.
  • Complex Environment Testing and Optimization: Design and implement performance tests in diverse operational environments, ensuring that the robot consistently performs at peak levels.
  • Performance Monitoring and Evaluation Tools: Develop custom tools to monitor real-time performance metrics and provide feedback loops for system optimization.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with teams in electronics, software, and mechanical engineering to ensure seamless performance integration and improvements.
  • Innovative Thinking: Stay at the cutting edge of performance development methodologies and apply innovative solutions to stretch the limits of robotic system capabilities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Accordingly experience in system integration and performance development, particularly within robotics, automation, or intelligent hardware sectors.
  • Strong sense of control systems, embedded development, and the use of advanced performance optimization tools and techniques.
  • Experience in identifying system-level performance issues and driving resolution in complex multi-subsystem environments.
  • Experience in designing and implementing comprehensive performance tests and data analysis workflows.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record in cross-functional collaboration, driving system performance improvement across multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Background in AI-driven performance optimization, particularly in applying machine learning for real-time improvements.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, ensuring fast iteration and testing cycles in development.
